Co-op Financing is available July 20th through Rocket Corr+

Rocket Corr+ continues to expand the ways lenders can connect with our correspondent and co-issue solutions. Co-op financing will be available July 20th, 2026, giving approved partners another opportunity to support borrowers in markets where cooperative housing is a meaningful part of the purchase landscape.

For lenders already working with Co-op transactions, this update creates another path to deliver loans through Rocket Corr+. For lenders who are newer to Co-op financing, it can also be a chance to explore how this product may fit into your broader growth strategy.

What is a Co-op?

Not familiar? A Co-op, or housing cooperative, is a form of housing where the buyer does not own the property itself in the same way they would with a traditional single-family home or condo. Instead, the buyer owns shares in a cooperative entity, and those shares are tied to the right to live in a specific unit or living space.

In other words, a Co-op resident typically owns shares connected to their home, but they do not own the deed to the property itself.

Co-op housing is often found in heavily populated urban areas, including markets like New York and Chicago, where cooperative housing can offer a different path to homeownership. Co-ops may include apartments, townhomes, duplexes, single-family homes, manufactured homes or other shared housing structures.

Why Co-op financing matters

As housing costs remain a challenge for many borrowers, Co-ops can provide another option in certain markets. For some buyers, the appeal may include affordability, shared responsibility and a stronger sense of community.

For lenders, Co-op financing can help expand the types of borrowers and properties they are able to serve. A borrower shopping in a Co-op-heavy market may need a lender that understands the structure, the documentation and the financing considerations that come with cooperative housing.

That is where having the right investor relationship matters.
